Head Coach Scott Carmony
Head Football Coach, Scott Carmony, makes a return to the duPont Manual sidelines having been an assistant coach here from 1997-99 under former head coach and current Manual principal, Jerry Mayes. Coach Carmony wants every Crimson player and family in our program to have a memorable and fun experience during their time at Manual. He wants our players to create lifelong memories and learn the values of hard work and being a great teammate. As coaches and mentors, the staff’s goal is for all of our players to embrace success and the positive attitude and spirit it takes to obtain and achieve great things.
As an assistant, Coach Carmony has over sixteen years of experience in programs at Jeffersontown, Ballard, and Tates Creek in Lexington. He brings a wealth of leadership experience with head coaching positions at Jeffersontown High School and most recently at Butler Traditional where he had two tours of duty in 1999-2002 and again from 2008-2012. As Butler’s head coach, He was also named District Coach of the Year by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association in 2001, 2008 and 2009.
Coach Carmony’s values of education are evident in his own academic pursuits. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in History from the Univeristy of Louisville as well as an Education Specialist Degree for Principal Licensure from Asbury University. Along with his Kentucky Teaching Certification, he also holds a Kentucky Principal Certification. He teaches many areas in Social Studies including American Government, World History and Social Sciences and was a nominee in 1998 for the Aegon Teacher of the Year Award. Coach Carmony is married to his wife Stephanie who is a teacher at Stopher Elementary School. They have twin daughters, Caroline and Macy, who are both 11-years-old.
Coach Carmony is the 35th head coach in duPont Manual Football history.
