  • coach_hut Coach’s Corner – August 21, 2015 (8/21/2015) - It is football time all over America and around the world. I find myself being just a little bit selfish in that my focus is on duPont Manual Football. Looking back on November 2014, I examine myself and my staff and found that I must do more. I committed myself to working towards the 2015 [...]

You expect so much of your body when the lights come on, and it is time to perform. But what have you done to prepare your body for the big show?? • coach4 Coach’s Corner – June 9, 2015 (6/9/2015) - Today, I was motivated to write this month’s Coach’s Corner after today’s workouts. I was encouraged by the commitment that the incoming freshman have displayed. I was motivated by the leaders of the team who showed up and got after the workouts. • coach3 Coach’s Corner – May 25, 2015 (5/26/2015) - Recruiting Recruiting is a topic close to my heart. The number one reason I like recruiting is that the good Lord has blessed me with a gift to recognize talent. Once talent has been recognized, then I – as a coach – must set up a plan that will maximize a player’s talent. Contrary to beliefs, it is not a coach’s job to get the most out of talent, but to maximize the plan for the talent to get the [...]

  • Coach’s Corner – March 16, 2015 (3/16/2015) - Breathing is a natural, involuntary function that helps to sustain life. Breathing can be voluntary if one chooses to exercise its control. My topic is one that should inspire a social or a personal conscience awareness of our own flaws. We all have personal “balls-and-chains” that demonize and consume our negative thoughts; thoughts that we wish we could change immediately. I am here to tell everyone that as long as the good Lord gives us breath, we can change the [...]

This month, I want to give you [...]
  • Coach’s Corner – January 19, 2015 (1/19/2015) - We are currently in the third week of our lifting and conditioning stages. We designed a weight program to meet the physical needs of each player’s positions. It is imperative that our players lift to be better prepared for the grueling upcoming season. Lifting is the survival kit that protects athletes from injuries. Muscles help protect the bones from breaking while the work done to strengthen those muscles adds confidence to the athlete’s weekly practices and game performances. The success [...]
